Saiful Islam Baufal Representative;
Six student representatives, including Muntasir Tasrip, the chief organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement in Bauphal, Patuakhali, have resigned from the National Citizens Committee. They announced their resignation through a status on their Facebook accounts yesterday afternoon. Later, the chief organizer Muntasir Tasrip confirmed the information on his mobile phone.
The six student representatives who resigned are Muntasir Tasrip, Fatima Zaman Samia, Ayeshatunnesa Barsha, Ruhul Amin, Farhan Rupai and Shuvo Chandra Shil. The student representatives who resigned said that they were not consulted before the formation of the National Citizens Committee. According to them, many people have been included in the committee who have never been in the movement or have not stood by the students. Ordinary students, teachers, journalists and political leaders have supported the movement, but they were not consulted when the Citizens Committee was formed. We had demanded a discussion about the committee from the first day.
But even after a long time, no one has sat down for discussions. As a result, we have lost interest in working with this so-called citizen committee. Muntasir Tasrip, the chief organizer of the anti-discrimination student movement Baufal, said, "We know from history that revolutions do not fail only due to suppression by the ruler; revolutions gradually fail when they are controlled by wrong leadership, embezzlers and beneficiaries. Our movement struggle in Baufal is moving in that direction today."
