They yearn for the intervention of the highest person in the country so that they can live a normal life in this world with their father, mother, wife, and children.
One such small businessman, human rights activist, and local journalist from Comilla is Moudud Abdullah Shuvro.
The miscreants who attacked him multiple times threatened to injure, kill, and burn his body in a brick kiln.
Moudud Abdullah Shuvro filed a written complaint with the Comilla District Commissioner on November 27. On the same date, he filed a written complaint with the Comilla District Superintendent of Police and the Comilla RAB 11 Company Commander.
On December 4 last year, he filed a written complaint with the district DGFI and NSI officials.
In the past seven months, the police have only been able to arrest one of the accused named in the case. The rest of the accused are still at large. He is constantly moving around in fear of being killed.
Moudud Shuvro said, "My wife is studying for a Masters at Comilla Victoria Government College. Terrorists threatened her with acid attack while she was going to college. Due to which my wife has stopped going to college and her studies have stopped. Victim Shuvro's Facebook, WhatsApp and Imo information products have been misused by hacking and cloning, and indirectly, various information and information rumors have been spread in the public mind with the intention of causing irreparable damage, and the so-called administration has been accused of spreading various information and rumors and withdrawing the case with the malicious intent of "Sir Group".
In this regard, Moudud Shuvro said, "Terrorists following the former ruling leader of the previous fascist Awami League government came to my house on two motorcycles on the bank of the Kalibari pond in Deluni Bari alley of Old Chodhuri Para and threatened to kill me. At that time, they demanded a ransom of 10 lakh taka and gave me an ultimatum to withdraw the case. On the contrary, they gave me an ultimatum saying that if I did not withdraw the case, they would frame me with a false case. They would take me away and kill me. They also threatened to hide the body. I reported the whole incident to the Comilla Kotwali Model Police Station and a GD was filed mentioning their names, whose number is: - 1138-15/1/2025 (Comilla Kotwali Police Station)
He further said, "On my way to the office, six terrorists on three motorcycles attacked me. During this time, they repeatedly punched me and hit me with a rod. As a result, I fell ill and could not get treatment at Comilla Sadar Hospital. After receiving medical treatment, I filed a written complaint at Comilla Kotwali Model Police Station."
On the night of August 3 last year, I was coming towards the city by crossing the Tikkachar Bridge. At that time, 13/14 terrorists of the former Awami League came on 4 to 5 motorcycles and a CNG and stopped my CNG. At that time, the terrorists demanded a ransom of 10 lakh taka from me. They snatched my mobile phone and money and the camera used for journalism, cash, mobile phone SIM along with it. Then I asked them why I had to pay a ransom of 10 lakh taka? Then some of them said - if we work in this city of Comilla, we have to pay a ransom. When I refused to pay the ransom, they stabbed me repeatedly and fled. With the help of the CNG driver, I called my friend Mohammad Zillur, a lawyer at the Comilla Judge Court, and other friends. Some of them, fearing some trouble, came and admitted me to the emergency department of the Comilla General Hospital that night and received medical treatment for the injuries inflicted by the terrorists on my entire body, including stitches on my left hand.
Two days before the fall of the fascist Awami government amid student and public protests, on August 3, due to the law and order situation in the country not being normal, on August 19 last year, a case was filed under the Speedy Trial Act against 3 unidentified men and a woman along with the mobile numbers they used. Which is under investigation by the Comilla District PBI. After finding the truth of the case, Inspector Mosleh Uddin of the Comilla District PBI is at the stage of submitting the final report to the learned court for taking legal action.
I have been seeking the assistance of the administration since 2017 for the safety of my life. On November 14, I filed a case at the Kotwali Model Police Station against 8 people and 4 to 5 unknown people for assaulting me with a weapon, extortion, and robbery.
The terrorist forces have been pressuring Victim Moudud Abdullah to withdraw his case quickly, not only that, but also various administrations have been telling him that if he does not withdraw this case, the people indirectly supporting the terrorist side will directly take him away with any case, directly disappear and burn his body in a brick kiln. And based on this, for the past few days, various unknown people wearing helmets have been constantly roaming around Victim Moudud Shuvro. There is a possibility that any kind of accident can happen at any moment and ensure it.
In this regard, the Comilla Kotwali Officer-in-Charge, the Investigation IO, the Comilla District DB Police Officer-in-Charge, and the Army Comilla Camp Commander were requested to inform the security and safety of life and property of the terrorists in writing and orally and take legal action against the criminals immediately.
Starting from 2017, despite complaining to various administrative circles, they are not getting relief from the hands of terrorists. The terrorists are so reckless that they do not even look at anyone. This young journalist and human rights activist is disappointed that they have not received any kind of legal protection including administrative security.
He filed his first GD with Kotwali Model Police Station on May 3, 2017, number 157. As the accused were still not arrested, he filed a second GD on June 28, 2018, number 1538. Due to the repeated attacks and torture by Moudud Shuvro, he filed a complaint with Kotwali Police Station on January 14, 2023, number 192.
As the terrorists became even more enraged, Moudud Abdullah filed a case with the Speedy Trial Law Court on August 19, 2024, under the number CR 36/24, for stabbing Shuvro to death in the upper chamber and threatening to hide his body.
A case was filed at the Comilla Kotwali Model Police Station on November 14, 2024, under case number 41/850, for extortion, theft and robbery.
A complaint has been filed with the Comilla Kotwali Police Station. It is learnt from the complaint that Moudud Abdullah Shuvro is a human rights activist and sole proprietor of Messrs. Moudud Varieties Construction and Moudud Builders. People known to the accused have been threatening the defendant on his mobile number. The criminals are harassing and beating Moudud Shuvro in various ways, demanding extortion. The said terrorists have also stabbed him with a knife in order to kill Moudud Shuvro. At that time, the police station could not register a case as the terrorist force could not be completely identified and since the accused were mostly followers of Awami League leaders, they dominated everywhere. After injuring him, they came back and demanded extortion, and a case was registered against the accused and some other accused including unknown names.
Two more cases were filed on August 4. On August 4, the accused physically injured the victim by displaying a knife and weapon with the intention of killing him and regularly asked for a bribe. When the victim was not given a bribe, he was stabbed, his money, mobile phone and journalistic camera were snatched away. Later, a case of bribery was filed in the court under the Speedy Trial Act as the police station did not take a case in this regard. Case number - Quick CR-36/24, date: 19.08.2024 Section - Offences Disrupting Law and Order (Speedy Trial) Act 2002 (Amendment/2019) No. 4/5. Then this terrorist group started to do the same again on October 13-16, coming directly and threatening, along with sending mobile calls and SMS. All of which are stored in the mobile of the victim Moudud Shuvro. Then, the terrorist force named Ezhar, along with their indirect unknown names, misused the name of the administration, and started threatening and looking for opportunities to kill the so-called "Sir Group", a group of armed murderers, men and women, who were forced to inform about the overall crime, starting from physical injuries, and on November 14, 2024, an FIR/GR case was filed at a separate police station, accusing 8 people and 4/5 other unknown people.

Moudud Abdullah Shuvro said that after filing the case, the joint forces including the administration have continued to try to arrest the accused. As the accused are absconding, unknown people from the accused side are constantly following Moudud Shuvro's movements and movements in various disguises by using motorcycles, private cars, etc. They threaten me with disappearance and murder by any means if I do not receive the ransom money. And they threaten me publicly, over mobile phones and via SMS that they will harm my family. In the meantime, they have also hacked my Facebook ID and are resorting to various crimes.
Victim Moudud Abdullah Shuvro said, "A case was filed against the accused under the Speedy Trial Act."
He further said that for the past four months, relatives and friends of the remaining accused named Ezhar have been threatening me by defaming the administration by using the name of Sir Group to withdraw the case. They have hacked my Facebook ID and cloned my mobile number. They have been threatening me with various types of threats including posting various obscene pictures and videos from my Facebook ID if I do not pay 10 lakh taka. For this reason (February 15) I filed a GD with the police station for cyber crime and digital security.
According to the GD sources, the gang named Sir Group is trying to blackmail me in various ways by hacking the page of an online newspaper run from the ID of Moudud Abdullah Shuvro. Since the arrest of the accused Mohiuddin, the other accused named Ezhar are threatening me in various ways to withdraw the case. I am demanding exemplary punishment by bringing the criminals under the law and demanding safety of my life from the administration.
Riaz Uddin, editor and publisher of the monthly Human Rights News, said, "Maudud Abdullah Shuvro is a highly educated person with a good human and social background. I strongly condemn such barbaric attacks on him in the past few days. I am drawing the attention of the administration to ensure the safety of him and his family by taking legal action against those who are currently extorting and threatening him with various plots, including the immediate arrest of the accused."
Victim Moudud Abdullah Shuvro said that a case was filed under the Speedy Trial Act for causing injury by threatening to kill, and a case was filed at the Kotwali Model Police Station for theft, robbery and extortion.
In this regard, Advocate Sayeed Shawon, founding chairman of the Human Rights Review Society, said, "Maudud Shuvro is a humanitarian and social figure and human rights activist. I strongly condemn this kind of unjust behavior of criminals and wish the administration and joint forces to take legal action in this matter."
Comilla Judge Court lawyer Syed Al Imran Pasha said, Moudud Abdullah Shuvro's father and mother are both retired teachers of government schools. The terrorists may have attacked and injured him multiple times because of his location in front of his house. They threatened to kill him by targeting Shuvro's movements. He filed a case with the Tin Kotwali Model Police Station for kidnapping and extortion. He filed a case under the Speedy Trial Act for causing injury by threatening to kill. A case cannot be filed in two courts for the same matter. Therefore, Moudud Shuvro has filed separate cases on two different matters.
In this regard, Comilla Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Mohinul Islam said, the police are trying to arrest the accused in this case quickly. He said, along with arresting the accused very soon, the main accused will also be brought under the law based on the information. The criminals will not be given any concessions in this regard. The victim, Moudud Abdullah Shuvro, said that he was threatened with death by a man who came on a motorcycle and showed him a weapon. As soon as I came to know about it, I sent a police force for his security. They are extortionists and terrorists, so they defame the administration to the victim.
Comilla District Police Superintendent Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan said, "I told Moudud Abdullah Shuvro that if there is any problem, call me anytime and I will take necessary action."
Kotwali Model Police Station SI and IO of the case Khaju Mia said that measures have already been taken to arrest the accused criminal named Ezhar and the criminals associated with them according to the law.
Human rights activist Moudud Abdullah Shuvro, for his and his family's legal protection and overall administrative security, and for the speedy arrest of the accused and the identification of the alleged murder syndicate force "Armed Sir Group", the alleged backers and sponsors of the accused, and for spreading such evil with their help, he has applied pressure to withdraw the indirect case and seek legal justice for the fraudsters and the arrest of the illegal Sir Group, who are using the name of the entire administration, and has prayed to the Honorable Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Honorable National Advisor, for their help.
