Limon Mia, Sarishabari (Jamalpur) Representative
Newly elected panel chairman Lal Mia paid tribute to the late M.A. Jalil, former successful chairman of Pogaldigha Union Parishad No. 2 in Sarishabari Upazila of Jamalpur, gold medalist and former acting chairman of the Upazila Parishad.
He paid his respects by placing a wreath at the tomb of the late M.A. Jalil in Bogarpara, Pogaldigha Union, on Friday (February 28) at 2 pm. At that time, he stood silently for a while next to the tomb and offered a special prayer for the forgiveness of the deceased's soul.
He also visited the grave of the late Gulzar Hossain, member and acting chairman of Ward No. 3 of the same union, and prayed for the forgiveness of his soul.
Pogaldigha Union BNP Senior Vice President Khalilur Rahman, Deputy General Secretaries Mosharraf Hossain Tarafdar Lilon and Shahin Sheikh, Jubo Dal's Mass Education Affairs Secretary Sharifuzzaman Sweet, Sramik Dal's Organizing Secretary Sujan Sheikh, Ward No. 3 BNP's Literary Secretary Tofazzal Sheikh, Upazila Health Assistant Manik Mia and other dignitaries of the area were present during the tribute.
It is worth mentioning that the late M.A. Jalil was a three-time successful chairman of Pogaldigha Union Parishad No. 2, acting chairman of the Upazila Parishad, advisor of Jamalpur District BNP and senior vice-president of Sarishabari Upazila BNP. His outstanding contribution remains unfading in the hearts of the locals even today.
