Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami has formed a human chain demanding road repairs in various unions of Nazirpur Upazila in Pirojpur.
They formed a two-hour human chain on the road in front of the Upazila Parishad on Friday (February 28) morning.
In separate speeches at the human chain, the speakers said that former MP of Pirojpur 1 constituency and former minister Sh. M Rezaul Karim and former MP of Pirojpur 2 constituency Mohiuddin Maharaj and their brothers have embezzled crores of taka in the name of development of the area. Especially, they have embezzled about 150 crore taka without completing the road from Nazirpur to Baithakata and Nazirpur-Khejurtola Bazar. They strongly demanded that all those money-launderers be brought under the law immediately, and humbly requested the Chief Advisor to provide a new budget to alleviate the suffering of the people.
At this time, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdur Razzak, Secretary Kazi Mosleh Uddin, Upazila Social Welfare Secretary Md. Anisur Rahman Mallick, Sheikh Matia Union President Hafez Abdur Rahman, Nazirpur Foundation Chairman Adv. Abu Sayeed Molla, Upazila Labor Welfare Federation President Md. Mahfuz, Sriramkathi Union Jamaat Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, Upazila Chhatra Shibir President Md. Abu Hanif, Secretary Md. Shakib Hossain, Nazirpur Sadar Union Jamaat Vice President S, M Shamsul Haque were present.
