Poet Professor Dr. Mu. Nazrul Islam Tamiji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Poet Sangsad Bangladesh, has demanded protection of the dignity of poets and provision of honorarium. He made this demand in his speech at the '11th National Poet Conference 2025' held at the Kachikancha Auditorium in the capital at 4 pm on Friday, February 28 under the slogan 'Poetry in Building a Non-Discriminating State and Society'. He also said that poetry is the original expression of creativity in its original form of spoken utterance. Poetry has been a tool in various movements and struggles, including the July Uprising 2024, the Language Movement 52, the Liberation War 71 or the anti-dictatorship movement.
In 1998, the Poet's Association of Bangladesh was established, giving new momentum to the poetry movement. Since then, this organization has been organizing the National Poet's Conference. In anticipation of the current prospects, the 11th National Poet's Conference was held. About 200 poets from all over the country participated in the conference. The poet's community was lively with poetry readings, discussions and pleasant cultural programs.

Gani Mia Babul, poet Mustafa Habib, poet-journalist Raju Alim, poet Ashok Dhar, poet Touhidul Islam Kanak, general secretary of Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh, among others, spoke at the conference.
