Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, convener of Bhashani Anusari Parishad, said that although the current interim government has been in power for 6 months, the government has not been able to take any effective steps to control the prices of daily commodities. Even after 6 long months, the government has not been able to take any visible action against the traders who are forming syndicates to increase the prices of daily commodities and monopolize the market. On the other hand, the statements of the interim government's market-related advisors are different, much like covering fish with vegetables.
On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, he called for immediate steps to control the prices of commodities to alleviate the suffering of the common people. He also said that the current law and order situation in the country is worrying. Extortion, robbery, murder in broad daylight are now routine incidents. There is no security for the lives of the people. Although the interim government has the goodwill to improve the law and order situation, the situation is not coming under control due to lack of coordination, slowness and foresight. He called for immediate effective measures to improve the law and order situation.
Congratulating the youth on forming the new party, he said that students played a key role in the anti-fascist movement of 2024, starting from the language movement of 1952. Many parties and opinions are needed for a strong democracy in the country. The youth will play a role in establishing the rule of law in the coming days.
He made the above remarks as the chief guest at a public meeting in front of Aftab Nagar East West University after a mass procession from Banasree D-Block Main Road on Friday afternoon, February 28, 2025, in support of the 6-point demands of the people of Rampura-Badda-Bhatara area. He thanked everyone present, including the leaders of the Bhashani Anusari Parishad, for organizing such mass processions and rallies in Rampura-Badda and Bhatara areas and expressed his support for their 6-point demands for the development of the area.
Md. Abdul Quader, one of the leaders of Bhashani Anusari Parishad, joint convener Babul Biswas, Jamil Ahmed and women leader Sonia Akhtar, among others, addressed the rally, chaired by Md. Arifur Rahman, joint convener of Bhashani Anusari Parishad and Dhaka Metropolitan Coordinator, and moderated by the leader of the Parishad, Professor Harun-or-Rashid.
In his speech, the president, Md. Arifur Rahman, said, "These 6-point demands have been presented for the development of the Rampura-Badda-Bhatara area. We will continue the movement together with you to achieve these 6 points." He also said, "These 6-point demands will play a huge role in the development of the area and we have to be vocal in achieving the demands."
Thank you-
Mohammad Ishmail
