The inaugural ceremony of the National Citizens Party has begun at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran at 4:20 pm on Friday. Then, readings were made from the Holy Gita, Tripitaka, and the Bible. After the readings from the scriptures, the national anthem was played.
Earlier, a large number of students gathered at Manik Mia Avenue in a procession chanting slogans. They expressed their excitement by marching with flags in their hands over the debut of a new political party for the youth.
There is a separate seating arrangement for invited guests. The general public is not allowed to enter there without an invitation. Among them are leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee, and leaders of various political parties.
In front of the stage, political leaders took their seats in the row of Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Mass Solidarity Movement Chief Coordinator Jonayed Saki, Revolutionary Workers Party leader Akbar Khan, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis General Secretary Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Islami Andolan Bangladesh Presidium Member Ashraf Ali Akand, and Hefazat-e-Islam Nayeb Ameer Ahmad Ali Qasemi.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie are scheduled to attend the event.
At the time of writing this report, the event was also attended by Bikalpakdhara Bangladesh Executive President Major (Retd) Abdul Mannan, Bangladesh LDP Secretary General Shahadat Hossain Selim, Khelafat Majlis leader Ahmed Abdul Quader, Labor Party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Islami Oikya Jote Secretary General Sakhawat Hossain Razi, Development Party Chairman AKM Azharul Islam, AB Party leader Didarul Alam and Jamaat's Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul.
The front row of the event has also been reserved for diplomats. As of the time of writing, Kamran Dangal, Political Counselor of the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka, and the Ambassador of Vatican City to Dhaka have attended the event.
Along with leaders and activists, family members of martyrs and injured fighters of the July Uprising also participated in the launch ceremony of the youth's new political party.
