Faridpur Correspondent:
Sushanta Kumar Sarkar, the headmaster of Fulsuti Abdul Alem Chowdhury Secondary School in Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur, has been accused of social harassment by students for dancing to music at their request.
It is known that the students and teachers of Fulsuti Abdul Alem Chowdhury Secondary School went on an educational tour to Green Valley Park in Natore on February 18 (Tuesday) this year. On that day, during the program, at the request of the students, the headmaster Sushanta Sarkar performed a dance with a group of students of the school. Later, the video of his dance went viral on social media, which led to discussions and criticism among the students, parents and locals.

Several teachers of the school (who did not wish to be named) said, "Acting headmaster Sushant Kumar Sarkar is a culturally minded person in addition to teaching, and he did this to give extra pleasure to the students. I do not see anything obscene here. All this is being done to basically embarrass him. We are taking the matter as normal."
Hasan Matubbar, a member of the school's managing committee, said that after acting headmaster Sushant Kumar took charge, there has been a visible change in the quality of the school, starting from the teaching. He behaves friendly with all the students. He has a good reputation for responsibility. We have seen the video of his dance going viral on social media. However, we think that the matter has given extra pleasure to the students. This incident is normal. We have no reaction to this from our side.
Another member of the school's managing committee, Ayub Matubbar, said he saw one of the teacher's posts on social media. "I don't know what happened there, but if he did this dance with bad intentions, then it will be investigated and discussed."
Nagarkanda Press Club President Shawkat Ali Sharif has reacted to the harassment of headmaster Sushant Kumar on social media. He said that the acting headmaster of the school, Sushant Sarkar, danced at the request of the students while going on a study tour at Green Valley Park in Natore. A class of people have gone fishing in troubled waters on this issue! They are putting pressure on the teacher. Those who are criticizing should remember one thing, the viral video is of the study tour, not the classroom.
In this regard, teacher Sushanta Kumar Sarkar, who was harassed on social media, said, "Basically, I consider my students as my children. Just as I am a teacher in school, my relationship with them outside the institution is friendly. I did this so that the students would not feel intimidated by our presence when they came to the banquet to enjoy themselves. However, I regret that it was not right for me to do this."
When asked if any group was conspiring against him or if he wanted legal assistance in this matter, he said in a tearful voice, "Every student of this institution is like my child."
I have no complaints against those who are trying to harass me socially and make me controversial. I have forgiven them. They may have done it without realizing it. In response to another question, he said, "A group is clearly spreading propaganda against me, although I apologize to the school authorities, teachers, students, and parents for my mistake in this matter. Still, I cannot accept the propaganda against me."
After this incident, Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Masum Billah, Acting Executive Officer of Nagarkanda Upazila, said, "I saw a video of Fulsuti Abdul Alam Chowdhury Secondary School teacher Sushanta Kumar on social media Facebook. I have not received any complaints from the school teachers, students or guardians in this regard. However, I did not find anything bad in this video. He did this dance while maintaining a safe distance from the students."
