The two sides of the anti-discrimination student movement in Joypurhat have held opposing programs. The student coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, who are part of the Joypurhat committee, held a press conference at the Joypurhat Press Club on Wednesday afternoon, February 26.
Present at the time were the convener of the new committee, Hasibul Haque Sanjid, member secretary Mubashir Ali Shihab, senior joint secretary Niyamur Rahman Nibir, joint member secretary Mobasher Hossain and chief organizer Ehsan Ahmed Nahid.
At the press conference, they said, "The new committee announced by the center was announced last Tuesday night. The allegations that the committee is one-sided are baseless. Those who were with us during the movement have been included in this committee."
On the other hand, those deprived of positions in the new committee held a human chain program at the city's Shaheed Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan. Students' movement representatives Borhan Uddin, Ashraful Islam, Mohammad Shakil Hossain and others spoke there.
At that time, they complained that those who were not on the field during the anti-discrimination student movement have been included in this new committee. Even the Chhatra League leader has been included in this committee. They called for the immediate cancellation of this committee and the announcement of a new committee with all the participants in the movement.
