A sudden panic of robbers spread in Sylhet's Bishwanath at midnight. The people of the area kept watch in fear of robbers. Along with this, strict surveillance was also maintained by the Bishwanath police station. Every vehicle was stopped and searched. Patrols were increased.
Local sources said that on Tuesday (February 25) midnight, news was received that some robbers were entering with a light. This news spread in an instant. The people of the area became active to prevent the robbers. At the same time, the Bishwanath police station strengthened their patrol and searched all the vehicles plying on the road. However, there was no news of any robbery or arrest of the robbers. The news of the robbers' arrival spread panic in the minds of everyone in the area. Everyone kept watch with sticks. At this time, the Bishwanath police station also strengthened its patrol. At the same time, a search was carried out. The area was miked due to fear of robbers.
In this regard, Bishwanath Police Station Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque said, "We had information that a gang of robbers was entering Bishwanath to commit robbery. We immediately informed the area about the matter. He said, after hearing the news of the robbers' panic, the Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police came to the scene. However, no robbers have been arrested or identified yet. However, he said that the police will remain active until dawn.
Meanwhile, two robbers have been arrested from a place called Hilalpur in Golapganj. They were arrested on Tuesday (February 25) midnight. According to local sources and media workers, Golapganj police received information that robbers were entering the Maskapur area of Hetimganj. Immediately, the Golapganj police, along with the people of the area, chased the robbers and arrested them from Hilalpur.
However, their names and addresses were not known.
In this regard, Golapganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman Molla said, "The robbers came in a black private car to rob. Upon receiving the information, the car was seized with the help of local people. At that time, two robbers inside the car were arrested. Currently, the robbers have been taken into DB custody," he said.
