Dhaka, 25 February 2025:
BNP Vice Chairman and freedom fighter Abdullah Al Noman fell ill at his Dhanmondi residence in Dhaka at 6 am today, February 25, 2025, and was rushed to Square Hospital. Doctors there declared him dead. The 80-year-old veteran leader had been suffering from various old-age related problems for a long time.
Abdullah Al Noman is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. The family has informed that the funeral will be decided after his daughter returns home. However, it has been confirmed that he will be buried in the family graveyard in Gahira, Raojan, Chittagong.
The death of Abdullah Al Noman, a valiant soldier of the Liberation War and founding leader of the BNP, has cast a shadow of grief over the country and the political arena of the party. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and many political leaders have expressed their condolences and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased's soul.
Leaders and activists gathered at the BNP central office to pay their last respects to Noman. Party leaders placed wreaths on the coffin and expressed deep sorrow over his death.
Abdullah Al Noman played an important role in the Bangladesh Liberation War, the student movement, and the BNP since its inception. His contribution will be remembered forever in the history of the party and the country.
