Limon Mia, Sarishabari (Jamalpur) Representative
A man named Ashraful Islam (40) was killed when his motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree in Sarishabari, Jamalpur. Babu Mia (32) was injured in the incident.
The accident occurred around 7 am on Tuesday (February 25) in the Bariptal Bridge Par Sheikh Bari area of Mahadan Union on the Sarishabari-Digpait road.
The deceased, Ashraful Islam, is the son of the late Mokhlesur Rahman of Sonapura village under Shibganj police station in Bogra. The injured, Babu Mia, is the son of Sabbir Hossain of the same area. Both of them worked as contractors for installing deep tube wells for public health projects.
Locals said that Ashraful and Babu were riding a motorcycle from Tulshipur Khupi Bari area towards Boyra Bazar in Pogaldigha Union in the early morning. After crossing the Baripatol Bridge in Mahadan Union, the motorcycle lost control and hit a coconut tree on the side of the road.
The driver, Ashraful Islam, died on the spot. The injured Babu was rescued by locals and given first aid.
Upon receiving the information, members of the Sarishabari Police Station and Fire Service reached the spot and recovered the body and the crashed motorcycle.
Sarishabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Chand Mia said that the body was handed over after completing the legal process as the deceased's family had no complaints.
