The 38th annual general meeting of Kapasia Upazila Central Cooperative Society of Gazipur was held on Monday. The meeting was organized by the Upazila Rural Development Department at 11 am in the meeting room of the Upazila Parishad. Upazila Executive Officer Tamanna Tasneem was the chief guest at the event.
In her welcome speech at the event, Upazila Rural Development Officer Dilara Akhter Moni said, "The Upazila Central Cooperative Society was formed in 1973 and this upazila society has been running till date. The members of each upazila cooperative society are working tirelessly to improve their fortunes by taking loans from the RDO office. We have arranged for training of the members of the society every year so that the members can run their activities well."
Besides, most of the members of the association have been paying off loans, while many are just accumulating savings without taking loans. To encourage and motivate the presidents, general secretaries and members of the associations in different areas of the upazila who have done good work by taking loans from the Rural Development Office, awards were arranged. This time too, they were given awards. Under the chairmanship of UCC Management Council Chairman Selim Hossain Arju and moderated by Field Organizer Al Emran, Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Mir Masud Karim, Upazila BNP Publicity Secretary Zahirul Haque spoke as special guests. Upazila cooperatives and local journalists were present at the time.
