A mother and son drug dealer have been arrested in Bhanga, Faridpur. 160 pieces of Yaba and 29,460 taka in cash for drug sales were seized. Bhanga police arrested them from the Brahmanpara area of the upazila on Sunday night.
The arrested are - Md. Reshma Begum (40), wife of Injal Khan, and Md. Shuvo Howlader (19), son of Gias Howlader and Reshma Begum, of Brahmanpara area of the upazila.
Bhanga Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Mashiur Rahman Khan said that a drug recovery operation was conducted at a house in Brahmanpara area based on a secret tip-off that some drug dealers were selling illegal drugs, Yaba, inside the house. Later, 100 pieces of Yaba were recovered from the body of Mosa Reshma Begum and 60 pieces of Yaba were recovered from the body of Md. Shuvo Howlader. At that time, 29 thousand 460 taka cash was seized from them.
In this regard, Bhanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said - The arrested persons have committed the offence of keeping the narcotics Yaba tablets in their custody for the purpose of selling them, under Section 10(a) of Schedule 36 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. A case has been registered under the Narcotics Act in this regard.
