The technical session of the workshop titled “Utilize Your Own Resource: Research & Publication Series-1” titled “International Research Symposium” was held at Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) under the initiative of ESDM Club.
The day-long workshop was held on February 23 (Sunday) at the auditorium of the university's Student-Teacher Center.
The workshop was divided into two parts. The first part was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Hemayet Jahan and Treasurer Professor Md. Abdul Latif were present as special guests. In addition, the workshop was presided over by Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Disaster Management, Professor Dr. Md. Mohsin Hussain Khan.
Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Jalal Uddin was present as the main discussant. In the second part, he discussed in detail the topic of “Scientific Research and Publication of Research Papers”.
In the first part of the speech, Dr. Jalal Uddin discussed the topic of research and employment (Job Replacement). At that time, the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam, said, "Students should not only do well, but also acquire skills in research. Transcript, research and publication - these three aspects play an important role in improving the quality of students."
In the second phase, students were trained on hands-on scientific research submission and publication techniques. The next phase was an exchange of views on higher education and research.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean of the ESDM Faculty presented certificates to the participants. He thanked the organizers and said, “Such workshops will make students interested in research and will help develop their latent talents.”
