Lakshmipur Correspondent: A fisherfolk product exhibition and marketing fair has been inaugurated in Lakshmipur. On the morning of February 23 (Sunday), Md. Anwar Hossain, Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department, Chittagong, declared the opening of the fair by cutting the ribbon and releasing balloons at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises.
Organized by the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project of the Department of Fisheries and in collaboration with the Social Development Foundation (SDF), the event was chaired by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhi Das. District Fisheries Officer Billal Hossain, Deputy Project Director of the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project Mizanur Rahman, Senior Assistant Director of the District Fisheries Department Md. Jasim Uddin, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Mahamudul Islam Chowdhury, Chittagong Divisional Regional Coordinator of the SDF Project Md. Rakib Uddin Ahmed, and Head Office Specialist Keshab Chandra Roy were present as special guests.
In this fair, 28 stalls displaying various types of products of 28 fishermen associations from 5 districts were displayed. This fair will end on February 24. After the inauguration of the fair, a discussion meeting was organized in the Upazila Parishad conference room.
