Md. Dil, Sirajganj
A delegation of 'Amra BNP Paribas' met with the families of the martyrs who were killed in firing by law enforcement agencies during the mass movement of the students and the public on 24th, under the direction of Mr. Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the main sponsor of 'Amra BNP Paribas'.

A discussion meeting was organized at Sirajganj Bazar Station Muktir Sopan at 12 noon to express condolences to the martyred family. BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was present as the chief guest at the meeting. District BNP President Rumana Mahmud, General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Romana Morshed Kanakchapa, former DIG Khan Said and other leaders spoke at the meeting under the chairmanship of 'Amra BNP Paribas' convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon and moderated by organization member Nazmul Hasan.
In his speech as the chief guest, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, "We have been freed in exchange for the blood of martyrs. There was no situation to come to North Bengal and hold a meeting. We have been attacked, we have all been victims of cases, we have eaten rice in prison. Before the 2014 elections, two workers were killed in Sayedabad and left on the street. Those who once hid in holes in the ground will no longer poke their heads out like rats. Those who are running away knowing the time will not be spared either."
He further said, people have been killed by shooting, throwing them on the streets and slaughtering them. Some have become banana trees after looting their wealth, while others have hidden in holes knowing the time. But BNP leaders and activists are not afraid, rather they have formed the 'We are BNP Paribas' organization to stand by the families of the martyrs, said Tarique Rahman.
Regarding the internal unity of BNP, he said, "Those who have been beaten will lead BNP. We must refrain from creating explosive organizations. Those who are talking about reforms should look at our 31-point manifesto. The people want Zia's family to lead BNP. Tarique Rahman has started new politics, people love him."
The speakers at the meeting respectfully remembered the sacrifice of the martyrs and promised to stand by their families.
