Police have arrested 21 more leaders and activists of the former ruling party Awami League and its affiliates in raids in 16 police stations in Chittagong city. One woman is among them. Police said they have one or more cases pending against them in different police stations.
This information was given in a press release sent to the media by the city police on Sunday (February 23) morning.
The arrested are Noor Mohammad (41), Abdul Ali Prakash Badsha (19), Md. Russell, Md. Mosharraf Hossain (35), Rana Kanti Deb (25), Md. Sagar Mia (23), Masumer Rahman (32), Md. Abdul Mabud (26), Md. Shaon Ahmed (28), Suman Das (39), Md. Solaiman (35), Md. Faruk (33), Md. Aslam (45), Md. Abul Kalam Rajan, Md. Jewel (29), Isha Akhter (30), Md. Mizanur Rahman (31), Md. Alamgir (45), Md. Ibrahim (50), Md. Zahidul Islam (21) and Ahmed Noor (49).
The statement further stated that they were arrested in a raid conducted from the night of Friday (February 21) to the night of Saturday (February 22).
