A new political party led by young people is coming next Wednesday. The party is going to make its debut on that day through a grand event at Manik Mia Avenue adjacent to the National Parliament. The day before, Nahid Islam will leave the post of advisor on Tuesday. This information was obtained after talking to the leaders of the National Citizens Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The leaders of the National Citizens Committee said that they have been fasting since March. As a result, their team will be coming by February. They want to have 100,000 people gather for the inauguration ceremony. They are working towards that goal.
Several committees are working on the occasion of the party's debut. These include the event preparation committee. There are separate committees for preparing the constitution and manifesto. These committees are meeting regularly. The latest meeting was held last Friday.
Earlier, the Citizens' Committee launched a campaign titled 'New Bangladesh in Your Eyes'. More than 350,000 people gave their opinions in it. They are verifying these opinions.
When asked, Akhtar Hossain, member secretary of the Citizens' Committee, told Samakal, "Various committees have been formed, including those for discipline, constitution, and declaration formulation. Discussions were held on the timing and format of the inauguration ceremony at several meetings." He added, "We have already started the 'New Bangladesh in Your Eyes' public opinion survey program. We received millions of data there. We have reviewed it among ourselves. Various preparatory committees have already been formed to form the party. Hopefully, we will be able to start our official journey by the end of the week."
Although the time of the debut is almost final, the name and organizational structure of the party have not yet been finalized. The disagreements between the leaders of the National Citizens Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement over the top positions have not yet been resolved. Only Nahid Islam has been finalized for the post of convener. Student leaders have said that Akhtar Hossain is also largely determined for the post of member secretary.
