Stating that we are working with the target of holding elections in December, Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar said, the commission will not work under anyone's instructions. EC Anwarul said the commission is trying to announce the schedule by December. If voting is to be held in December, preparations will have to be completed by July-August.

Regarding the local government elections, he said, "The Local Government Commission's proposal to hold a vote by June is not clear. It will take time to amend the relevant laws. It will take time to prepare if a consensus is reached."

Besides, regarding party registration, the commissioner said, "The commission will work if there is consensus on the proposal given by the party registration reform commission. There must be a party registration law. Some additions and subtractions may be made to it. Meanwhile, a significant number of dead voters are being excluded," he said.
Stating that nearly 400 applications have been submitted for the redrawing of parliamentary boundaries, Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar said that the EC believes that it is necessary to rearrange the seats.
