Four DIGs of the police have been sent on compulsory retirement, a notification said on Sunday (February 23).
The four people sent to retirement are - DIG Md. Nisharul Arif, working in the Anti-Terrorism Unit, DIG Md. Abdul Quddus Amin, working in the Naval Police, DIG Md. Azad Mia, NDC, and Amena Begum, working in the Highway Police.
The notification said that these four people were retired from government service in the public interest in accordance with the provisions of Section 45 of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018).
They will be entitled to retirement benefits as per the rules. The order, issued in the public interest, will come into effect immediately, the notification said.
Earlier, 22 officials, including three secretaries, who served in the controversial last three parliamentary elections, were given compulsory retirement. A separate notification was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration last Thursday.
