Jessore, February 22: BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that the liberation of the people lies in the 31-point outline for repairing the state structure announced by BNP. He claimed that in the last 16 years, the Awami League government has systematically destroyed every sector of the country's state structure and has conspired to turn the country into a failed state.
He made these remarks while virtually joining the Jessore District BNP biennial conference at Jessore Eidgah Maidan yesterday as the chief guest.
Tarique Rahman said,
"Today, many are talking about repairing the state, but BNP presented a 31-point outline to the nation on this issue two and a half years ago."
He said, BNP has been carrying out a democratic movement and wants to re-establish the rights of the people. More than 700 BNP leaders and activists have lost their lives while fighting against the fascist government, thousands of leaders and activists have been victims of disappearances and murders, and about 6 million leaders and activists have been accused in cases of disappearances.
Call to reach the people with the benefits of the 31 points
Tarique Rahman said to BNP leaders and activists,
"We need to convey to the people how the implementation of our 31-point plan can change their destiny. It is important to reach this message to all levels of people, including farmers, blacksmiths, potters, fishermen, students, youth, and women."
He called on the party's new leadership and said,
"The main task of the newly appointed leaders of Jessore BNP will be to highlight the benefits of the 31-point movement among the people and involve them in the movement to repair the state."
BNP's position on resisting fascism
Tarique Rahman said, the Awami League government has seized state power by taking away the people's right to vote. But the BNP wants to build a fascism-free Bangladesh. He said,
"Ignoring the bloodshot eyes of the autocratic government, we said - you have destroyed the country, we want to build it."
BNP leaders believe that if this outline for state repair is implemented, good governance will be established in Bangladesh and the people of the country will get a taste of true democracy.
Through Tarique Rahman's speech, BNP has once again called for presenting its 31-point outline to the people. Only time will tell how effective BNP's plan will be and what impact it will have on the political arena.
The Jessore District BNP biennial conference has added a new dimension to the political context of Bangladesh. In this conference, the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman joined virtually and delivered an important speech. In his speech, he talked about the current political situation of the country, BNP's 31-point outline and the country's future plans. The main theme of his speech was the need for state repair and BNP's struggle to establish a democratic Bangladesh.
Tarique Rahman said, "For the past 16 years, the Awami League government has destroyed every level of the state. Every institution in the country, including the judiciary, administration, and law enforcement agencies, has been weakened through partyization." He said, BNP has presented a clear plan to repair the state before the people through its 31-point program, which is essential for re-establishing democracy in the country.
He further said that the country's economy has collapsed due to the fascist regime. The common people are suffering due to rising commodity prices, increasing unemployment, absence of rule of law and political oppression. He claimed that effective steps will be taken to solve these problems if BNP comes to power.
31-point outline for state repair
Tarique Rahman said that the 31-point outline announced by BNP is the only path to the liberation of the people of Bangladesh. This outline includes:
- Formation of an impartial election commission
- Ensuring the independence of the judiciary
- Strengthening the Anti-Corruption Commission
- Freeing the administration from party influence
- Ensuring freedom of speech and freedom of the media
- Economic reforms and creation of new employment opportunities
Current political situation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is currently politically very tense. The long-running political dispute between the BNP and the Awami League has deepened. Opposition parties have expressed widespread dissatisfaction with the last national election. The BNP claims that the election was one-sided and that the people's right to vote has been taken away.
Thousands of BNP leaders and activists have been arrested in the anti-government movement, many have been subjected to disappearances and torture. In contrast, the Awami League government says that it is working to maintain the country's stability and that the BNP is trying to create instability.
BNP's future plans
Tarique Rahman mentioned in his speech that BNP will go to the people to restore democracy and will conduct a massive campaign on state reforms. He called on every BNP leader and worker to go to the people and highlight the benefits of the 31-point program.
Tarique Rahman's speech at the Jessore district BNP conference is important in the current political reality of Bangladesh. If the 31-point outline he spoke about is implemented, it can bring about major changes in the country's political and administrative structure. However, how feasible it will be in practical terms will depend on the political situation in the future.
