Natore Representative: A violent clash broke out at a wedding ceremony over loud music. The wedding hall was attacked, extensive vandalism was done, and at least four people, including the groom, were injured.
There have been allegations of the groom being beaten and the wedding hall being vandalized after loud music was played at a wedding hall in Bagatipara, Natore.
Although the bride was not harmed in the incident, three others, including the groom's mother and grandmother, were injured.
The incident took place at the house of Mintu Ali Shah in Jayantipur area of Bagatipara around 10:30 pm on Friday, said Dayarampur Union Parishad Chairman Md. Mahabubur Rahman Mithu.
Incident details
According to local sources, a grand ceremony was organized on the occasion of the wedding of Walia Chotomayna - the groom Arafat Shah (21) and Abdul Majeed's daughter - of Lalpur, Natore. Since the evening, music was being played loudly on a sound system in the courtyard of the house. Neighbors complained that the noise level was so high till late at night that they became annoyed.
At one point, around [time] at night, some neighbors came to the wedding party and requested them to turn down the noise. But some of the wedding guests and the groom's family members did not agree and instead protested. At one point, an argument broke out between the two parties, which quickly escalated into a fight.
Eyewitnesses said that a group of agitated youths armed with sticks and sharp weapons entered the wedding hall and attacked. The groom and his friends were beaten up, furniture was vandalized, and even the decorations of the wedding hall were destroyed. The bride took refuge in an adjacent room in fear.
Condition of the injured
The groom [name of groom] was seriously injured in the attack, with several injuries to his head and hands. His two brothers and a relative were also injured. They were rescued by locals and admitted to [nearby hospital/clinic]. Doctors said that two of them are in critical condition.
Legal system and police statement
Police quickly reached the scene after receiving information about the clash and brought the situation under control. Some suspects involved in the attack have already been detained and efforts are underway to arrest the rest.
Local police station OC Rafiqul Islam said, "This is a sad incident. Such chaos is not desirable during the joy of a wedding. We are investigating and strict action will be taken against those involved."

The wedding party claimed that they were celebrating normally, but some people created chaos by inciting unnecessary fights.
On the other hand, neighbors say that despite their repeated requests, the noise was not reduced, and instead they were mistreated. So the situation became heated.
The incident has created tension in the area. Many say that it is natural to have fun at a wedding, but it should not cause inconvenience to others.
The police are currently investigating the entire incident and preparing to take further legal action.
