Allegations have been received that a madrasa has been constructed by demolishing a shrine in Godagari, Rajshahi. Some influential people are demolishing the shrine of Hazrat Shah Sufi Mukarram Hossain Jangi (RA) located in the Rajabari Hat area of Godagari Upazila and constructing houses and a madrasa.
In this regard, the devotees of the shrine are not getting any redress despite filing complaints with the Godagari Model Police Station, Godagari Upazila Administrator, and Rajshahi District Administrator. The shrine's keeper, Sajib Hasan Tariqul, is going door to door with the law.
The family of the servant was beaten up even when they tried to stop him. Their son's hand was broken.
A devotee named Habibul Hasan also filed a case in the Rajshahi Additional District Magistrate Court. The defendants in this case are Shamsul Haque (50), son of the deceased Nakimuddin, and Md. Roni, son of the deceased Abul Kalam Lalu.

The case was filed mentioning the names of a total of 15 people including Anarul, Md. Shamsul Haque's son Hafez Md. Ariful Hossain, Tayyab Ali's son Md. Yunus Ali Budhu, Shamsul Haque's son Ashiq, Tiyarul's son Md. Jasim, Rafiqul Islam, son of the deceased Nabed Ali, Shahdul Islam Babu, son of Mainul Islam. After searching and reviewing the documents, it was found that a total of 14 acres 57 hundred of property including ponds, fields and rice fields were in the name of Bijoynagar Mojai Shrine. To consume this property, they are Alhaj Rafiqul Islam, Shahdul Islam Babu, Mainul Islam and Hafez Ariful.
Among them, Alhaj Rafiqul Islam and Shahdul Islam Babu have been occupying about 30 bighas of property belonging to the shrine, while Mainul Islam has been occupying 6 bighas.
Hafez Ariful built a madrasa on the shrine property in 1998 and sold it to a man named Mizanur in 2003! Mizanur in turn sold the madrasa to Azim for 50,000 taka to build a house.
Once again, Hafez Ariful built another madrasa on the shrine's property in 2009 and sold it too! This time, this group has its eyes on the last vestiges of the shrine.
Locals said that this group basically wants to erase the last traces of the shrine and enjoy the shrine's property in peace from there.
At one point during the discussion on this issue, Godagari Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Abul Hayat asked Premtuli Police Investigation Center IC Makhsudur Rahman to look into the matter and take strong legal action.
But fans said that Makhsudur Rahman's role was not fully understood.
Meanwhile, the devotees complain that even though the IC of Premtuli Police has gone to the spot, he is not taking any action. Instead, he is returning with his pockets full. The shrine of Hazrat Shah Sufi Mukarram Hossain Jangi (RA) is a symbol of history and tradition. The devotees of the shrine have been serving it for a long time.
When Premtuli called the IC of the Investigation Center, Makhsudur Rahman, to inquire about this matter, he said that he would not speak over the phone.
Godagari Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ruhul Amin has strictly ordered the opposition people to stop the construction work. Even then, for some mysterious reason, they are not stopping the construction work. Khadem Tariqul Islam asked where and to whom the shrine can be protected.
