Rashedul Islam, a 10th grade student of Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder High School, lost his life in a tragic accident during an educational trip to Sarishabari, Jamalpur.
On Saturday (February 22), the school authorities organized an educational trip to Gazipur Safari Park with students. The bus carrying the students left from Sarishabari in the morning.
According to local sources, when the bus reached Sonakandar Baghmara intersection, Rashedul stuck his head out of the window of the moving bus and hit his head on a nearby jackfruit tree. He was seriously injured. His classmates and teachers quickly rescued him and took him to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex. However, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Rashedul Islam, a 10th grade student of Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder High School and son of Satpoa Union BNP Vice President Siddiqur Rahman, has cast a shadow of grief over his family, school and the area.
Immediately after the accident, police went to the scene, seized the bus and arrested the driver. Sarishabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Chan Mia said, "Upon receiving the information, the police went to the scene and brought the bus and the driver to the police station. Appropriate action will be taken after investigating the matter."
Local residents and parents of the students have expressed deep shock over the incident and have demanded stricter security measures during future educational trips to prevent such tragic accidents from happening again.
