The Border Guard Battalion Bangladesh (BGB) has seized foreign liquor and beer from the Tahirpur border in Sunamganj. The narcotics were seized from the Lalghat border area of Uor Sreepur union of the upazila. The BGB said the narcotics had entered the country illegally from India.
Lieutenant Colonel AKM Zakaria Qadir, commander of Sunamganj-28 Battalion of BGB Sylhet Sector, confirmed this information on Saturday.
The BGB commander said that a BGB patrol team of the battalion's Charagaon BOP seized 237 bottles of foreign liquor and 42 bottles of beer worth 366,000 taka from the Lalghat border area.
