A discussion meeting and prayer meeting were held on February 21, marking the great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day, organized by the Alikadam Upazila branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Bandarban district.
The discussion meeting was held at the party's Alikadam Upazila office at 4 pm today, February 21. The program was presided over by the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Alikadam Upazila, Mr. Maulana Mashuk Elahi, and moderated by the party's Alikadam Upazila Karma Parishad Finance Secretary and Alikadam Sadar Union President, Mr. Mahmudul Haque.
Speaking at the discussion meeting, Upazila Ameer Maulana Mashuk Elahi said that the people of this country have given their lives for the Bengali language, which is rare in the history of the world. But the sad thing is that now the people of the country consider speaking English indiscriminately as modernity, which is a shame for this nation. He also said that we all need to practice the Bengali language and educate everyone on this issue.
The party's Alikadam Upazila Secretary Mr. Sadek Mia said that on this Mother Language Day today, I request the government to publish all notices and other papers of government offices in Bangla instead of English. Among others, the meeting was also addressed by the President of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami 3 No. Naya Para Union Muradul Islam, Secretary Hafez Rahmat Ullah, Secretary of Sadar Union Abu Siddique, Secretary of Alikadam Upazila of Sramik Kalyan Federation Md. Sohail, Finance Secretary of Chaiksyang Union Kausar and President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Alikadam Upazila Branch Mr. Mahmudul Hasan.
It is worth noting that at the end of the discussion meeting, the program concluded with a prayer for the language martyrs.
