Masud Sayedee, son of Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee, the nominated parliamentary candidate for Pirojpur 1 constituency of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, said, Bangladesh Hasina was freed due to the student movement but we could not be free from discrimination. Almost all the political leaders who were imprisoned including those sentenced to death in the last 6 months have been released but the central leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Assistant Secretary General ATM Azaharul Islam, is still in prison. The discrimination and oppression against us has not ended yet. From today's rally, we demand the release of ATM Azaharul Islam. At the same time, we demand the return of Jamaat-e-Islami's registration and trademark beard.
He made these remarks while addressing the chief guest at a public meeting organized by Jamaat-e-Islami No. 2 at Kumarkhali Bazar ground in Nazirpur Sadar Union of the upazila on Friday, February 21 afternoon, chaired by SM Shamsul Haque and moderated by Jamaat-e-Islami's Upazila Baitulmal Secretary Maulana Abu Daud.
He further said, "The sinful party Awami League has shown what discrimination is by doing it - the Gandaya Jamaat Islam. They have killed 11 of our central leaders, 5 of whom they have hanged. They have kept 5 people in prison and killed them without treatment. And they have systematically killed Allama Sayedee, the bird of the Quran. There is no other political party in Bangladesh that has been tortured like Jamaat. In response, all the offices of Jamaat and Shibir have been closed in Bangladesh."
Masud Sayedee said, the more the spread of something, the more the bad name of that thing is. For the last 17 years, the Awami League had a slogan, in this slogan they used a slogan, that slogan was Jamaat-Shibir-Jamaat, Shibir. In the same way, some of our friendly organizations are doing the same business Jamaat-Shibir, Jamaat-Shibir. I want to tell this friendly organization of mine, brothers, by raising this rotten sack of 1971 allegations against Jamaat and Shibir, the Awami League has fled Bangladesh by stealing all its capital and assets, please do not go anywhere, stay here. The accusation you are making against Jamaat-Shibir is a non-profitable business, there is no profit in doing this business.
He also said, "My father was a two-time MP, no one can say that he committed corruption of 1 taka. He oppressed someone. He who fears the fire of hell cannot loot the property of others." He asked for blessings as a candidate for Pirojpur 1 constituency in the next parliamentary election and said that you may have many candidates of your choice. You will have to choose the candidate after listening and understanding.
Speaking at the event were Nazirpur Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abdur Razzak, Secretary Kazi Mosleh Uddin, former Upazila Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman, Pirojpur Sadar Thana Ameer Maulana Siddiqur Rahman, Nazirpur Sadar Union Jamaat President Master Abul Hossain, former student leader Ad, Abu Sayeed Molla, Nazirpur Shaheed Zia College lecturer Pradeep Kumar Halder and others.
