SP Kazi Ehsanul Kabir laid a wreath at the martyrs' altar in Narail. The great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day commemorate the bloody language movement. This day is a day of sorrow and glorious memories in the history of Bangladesh.
On this day in 1952, Salam, Rafiq, Barkat, Jabbar and many others were martyred when the Pakistani army opened fire on students protesting for making Bengali one of the state languages of Pakistan. Ujjwal Roy, District Representative from Narail, said that on the occasion of the great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir, Superintendent of Police, Narail, paid deep respect to the memory of the martyrs of the great language movement and placed a wreath at the altar of language martyrs at the Shahid Minar located in the premises of the Narail District Shilpakala Academy for one minute on Thursday (February 21).
At that time, Mir Shariful Haque, DIO 1; Md. Sajedul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, along with Md.
