A "Youth Festival" was held in a festive atmosphere with the participation of special needs students in Sarishabari, Jamalpur. The day-long festival was organized on Thursday (February 20) at the school grounds under the initiative of Sweet Bangladesh, the Intellectually Disabled and Rehabilitation Center.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Liza Richil inaugurated the festival. Alhaj Asadullah, Senior Vice President of the Board of Directors of Sweet Sarishabari and Intellectually Handicapped School, presided over the event. The school's Vice President Fazlur Rahman, Headmaster Anisur Rahman, General Secretary of Sarishabari Press Club, Poet Zakaria Jahangir and Assistant Teacher Montu Lal Tewari were present as special guests.

During the day-long festival, special needs students of the school presented various cultural performances including music, dance, and acting. Their impeccable performances mesmerized the guests present.
Along with the cultural events, the Pitha Festival was also a special attraction of the event. The celebration of various traditional and delicious pithas delighted the guests, teachers, and parents.
The school's teachers, parents, and invited guests highly appreciated such initiatives. They called for more such events to be organized to develop the mental and creative talents of children with special needs.
Those concerned believe that such festivals play an important role in boosting the confidence of children with disabilities.
