Jerusalem, February 20: Three buses in Israel have been hit by a series of deadly explosions, with many feared dead. Security forces have rushed to the scene and are carrying out rescue operations.
The Israeli army imposed a curfew on several parts of the West Bank immediately after the explosion. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, but Israeli security forces have launched operations to capture suspects.
Strengthen security measures
Security has been tightened in several Israeli cities following the explosion, with troops deployed on major roads in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem.
"This appears to be a planned attack and a massive search is underway to quickly arrest the perpetrators," a government statement said.
Tensions rise in the West Bank
Immediately after the explosion, the Israeli military banned access to several areas in the West Bank, severely restricting the movement of the Palestinian general population.
The Israeli prime minister has signaled a strong response to the incident, but the international community has called for a resolution of the conflict to establish peace.
The explosion is expected to further escalate ongoing tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, prompting international negotiations and diplomatic efforts to bring the situation under control.
