Police have recovered 64 mobile sets stolen from devotees from Charmonai Mahfil Maidan. Along with the recovery of the mobile phones, they have also arrested 5 members of the gang.
The media cell of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) confirmed the information. Those who lost their mobile phones from the Charmonai Mahfil have been asked to contact the Barisal Kotwali Police Station.
Based on the information about the theft of mobile phones of the devotees who had come to the Charmonai Mahfil, a special operation team of Kotwali Model Police Station consisting of SI/Md. Ibrahim Khalil, SI/Abdullah Al Jobayer, PSI/Ruhul Amin, ASI/Md. Arif Hossain Gano conducted a raid on the fourth floor of Hotel Chandradeep Residential Hotel, Maulana Enayetur Rahman Road, Falpatti, Ward 09 under Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station on 20-02-2025 at 11:30 AM.

Omar (30) Father: Baijidul Haque
Mother: Samsunnahar, Sang- Mukrim Pur Ward 6, Paitorhati UP, Thana: Dharmapasha, District: Sunamganj, (4) Asaduzzaman (28) Father: Bataur Rahman, Mother: Nur Banu Sang- Maipur, Nischintapur UP, Thana: Sapahar, District: Naogaon, (5) Md. Barkat (30) Father: Ayub Ali Sheikh, Mother: Hosne Ara Sang- Kazlia Ward 9, Kazlia Union Thana: Sadar, District: Gopalganj, arrested and recovered 64 mobile phones of various types from them.
The arrested accused are active members of an inter-district theft ring. They organize thefts by visiting public gatherings in different parts of the country with mutual consent.
Legal action is underway against the arrested accused at the relevant police station.
