A patrol team from Harashpur BOP in Madhabpur, Habiganj, has arrested five women, including an Indian, from the Rajendrapur border.
It is learnt that they were detained at the border while illegally entering India on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:30 am. They are Swapna Dhar (55) from Chattogram Raojan Upazila town, Mukta Rani Das (37), Barsha Dhar (23), Priya De (30) from the same area and Krishna De (47) from Assamsil Char, India.
The BGB said that the detainees were arrested by a patrol team of Harshpur BOP on Wednesday morning while they were going to visit their relatives' house in Assam, India, in exchange for money through a human trafficker's broker. Three Android mobile phones and one button mobile phone were recovered from the detainees.
The Indian national, during interrogation by the BGB, said that he entered Bangladesh through the Assam border a month ago and stayed at a relative's house in Chattogram. 25 BGB Sarail commander Lt. Col. Farah Imtiaz said that a case has been filed at Madhabpur police station against the infiltrator Bangladeshi and Indian national.
