Pirgachha (Rangpur) Representative
The biennial conference of the Upazila BNP was held in Pirgachha, Rangpur after a long 19 years. Aminul Islam Ranga was elected as the president, Nazir Hossain as the vice-president, Shariful Islam Dalej as the general secretary, Abdur Razzak as the joint general secretary, and Jewel Hossain Mondal and Abdus Salam Azad Jewel as the organizing secretaries.
The names of the selected candidates were announced after voting through ballot papers in the second session of the conference at the Rahim Uddin Bhorsa Women's College grounds in the upazila on Wednesday night. The six-member committee was asked to announce a full committee of 101 members at the conference.
The first session of the conference began at Rahim Uddin Bhorsa Women's College in the upazila on Wednesday afternoon (February 19). The national and party flags were hoisted along with the performance of the party anthem. In addition, the guests inaugurated the conference by releasing balloons and pigeons.
The conference, chaired by Pirgachha Upazila BNP convener Aminul Islam Ranga and moderated by member secretary Khandaker Matiar Rahman, was attended by BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary (Rangpur Division) Abdul Khalek, BNP Central Committee Co-Organizing Secretary (Rangpur Division) Professor Aminul Islam Udbodhak and Rangpur District BNP convener Saiful Islam as the main speakers. Rangpur District BNP Member Secretary Anisur Rahman Laku and district BNP members Emdadul Haque Bhorsa and Mamunur Rashid were special guests. The last conference of Pirgachha Upazila BNP was held in 2006.
