The Shantiganj Police have arrested Nur Alam (42), the general secretary of Patharia Union Awami League, for conducting a devil hunt in Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj. He was arrested from Ganiganj Bazar in the upazila on Wednesday (February 19) evening. The arrested Nur Alam is the son of Abdul Wahab of Tehkia village in Patharia Union of the upazila.
Police sources said that Nur Alam has been arrested in a case filed under the Speedy Trial Act regarding the banned parties for conducting Operation Devil Hunt. He will be sent to the learned court after the legal process is completed.
In this regard, Shantiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akram Ali said that we have arrested him by conducting Operation Devil Hunt. Our operation will continue.
