Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee, said, "If I put a question to the public, can you answer, who do you see as the future Prime Minister of Bangladesh? He is the national hero Tarique Rahman. If this voice does not reach our ears, then we will make a fuss about the election."
He made these remarks while addressing a special guest at a rally organized on the District Judge Court Road in Maijdi, Noakhali on Wednesday (February 19) afternoon. The Noakhali District BNP organized the rally to demand price control, improvement of law and order, and early parliamentary elections.
Addressing the leaders, he said, "Now some secret political parties are making noise about the elections. They repeatedly ask why the BNP wants elections. In response, I know that students who have studied want to take the exam, those who are not prepared do not want to take the exam. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is ready to cross any electoral hurdle under the leadership of our leader and party chairman Tarique Rahman. Remember one thing, their leader (Sheikh Hasina) has fled, the sound of the field has not reached her ears. What did they say about the democracy of development, the alternative to democracy is development. In the end, they were forced to flee in one piece."
He further said, in 1971, when the then politicians failed to fulfill their responsibilities. Our leader, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, declared independence on his own responsibility, fought and liberated the country and returned to his place. But in 1975, when the country was in crisis again, the Sepoy Janata brought him in and gave him the responsibility of running the state. On August 5, 2024, under the leadership of our leader Tarique Rahman, he brought independence to Bangladesh for the second time through foresight and prudence. Since he is not greedy for power, he has not done anything yet. Remember, if we can put Zia in power in 1975, we can definitely give Tarique Rahman the responsibility of running the country in 2025 as well.
BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud addressed the gathering as the chief guest under the chairmanship of District BNP Convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo and moderated by Member Secretary Harunur Rashid Azad. BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker.
Other speakers at the rally included BNP Chairperson's Advisor Zainul Abedin Faruk, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, BNP's Chittagong Divisional Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Harunur Rashid, Chittagong Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Barrister Mir Helal Uddin, National Executive Committee member Mamunur Rashid Mamun, District BNP Joint Convener Advocate ABM Zakaria, and others.
At that time, Noakhali Municipality BNP President Abu Naser, District Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Amin Khan, District Swechchhasebak Dal President Saber Ahmed, Krishak Dal President Fazle Elahi Palash, District Sramik Dal President Delwar Hossain, District Mohila Dal President Shahnaz Parvin, former District BNP member Golam Momit Faisal, and former member Shamima Barkat Lucky were present.
