Students of Pabna Science and Technology University (Pabna Science and Technology University) held a torchlight procession to protest the brutal attacks by Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal on ordinary students and leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
On Tuesday (February 18), around 9 pm, students took out a torchlight procession from the Independence Square. It passed through the main gate, circled the Pabna-Dhaka highway, and ended in front of the university's Shaheed Minar with a protest rally. During the torchlight procession, students chanted slogans such as "Education and terrorism do not go together, July's weapons roar once again, Kuet is not afraid of you, I have not left the highway, my brother's blood, I will not let it go in vain, the address of terrorists, this will not happen in Bengal, the address of student politics, this will not happen on this campus."
At the end of the torchlight procession, coordinator Mirajul Islam said, "Today we saw the terrorist attack by Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leaders and activists on ordinary students and leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement in Kuet. We never thought that such a heinous incident would happen on any campus after August 5."
At this time, he highlighted the torture of ordinary students by the banned organization Chhatra League on the PABIPROVI campus due to student politics and said, since student politics has been banned on the campus after August 5, all students are enjoying its benefits. At this time, he also said, although student politics is banned on our campus, various student organizations are using the campus name anonymously and organizing various activities and committees. The university administration is sitting there as if it has banned politics on paper. They are not taking any action against it. We do not want to see any student politics on our campus and we want to see student parliament elections as soon as possible.
Pabna District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Member Secretary Manjurul Islam said, "On behalf of Pabna Science and Technology University, we strongly condemn and protest the heinous attack on KUET. If you do not learn from history, you will also face the same situation as fascist Hasina. The people of Bengal have learned to understand, the students of Bengal have learned to unite. If you behave like a dictator, the people of Bengal will not accept it. You should not do anything that goes against the students. I demand justice for all those involved in today's incident."
