The tribunal has ordered the completion of the investigation against dictator Sheikh Hasina by April 20 in the case filed for crimes against humanity in connection with the July-August genocide.
The three-member tribunal, led by International Crimes Tribunal Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, issued the order on Tuesday (February 18).
The court issued the order in response to an application made by the prosecution. Additional Chief Prosecutor Mizanul Islam, who appeared for the prosecution, said, "Sorry, sir! It's over!"

The long one-party rule has also destroyed Bangladesh's security system.
Earlier, on December 17, the tribunal ordered the completion of the investigation within two months against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader and 46 others in two cases filed for crimes against humanity in connection with the July-August genocide.
The International Crimes Tribunal is currently on trial against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and others accused of ordering and planning the shooting and killing of unarmed students and the public during the anti-discrimination student movement. The Awami League government carried out indiscriminate killings to stop the student movement. About 1,500 people lost their lives in that movement. The 15-year rule of the Sheikh Hasina government ended on August 5 in the face of the student movement. After that, when the interim government led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus took over the responsibility of running the country, it was decided to prosecute the July-August massacre.
