A preparatory meeting was held in Saltha, Faridpur to celebrate the Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day 2025. This preparatory meeting was held at the conference room of the Upazila Parishad at 11 am today, Monday (February 17) at Saltha, Faridpur. At the beginning of the meeting, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the language martyrs.
The preparatory meeting was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Md. Anisur Rahman Bali, and was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Masum Billah, Principal of Nabakaam Rural College Md. Obaidur Rahman, Principal of Saltha Government College Krishna Chandra Barman, Investigation Officer (OC) of Saltha Police Station Maruf Hossain, Upazila BNP President Md. Siddiqur Rahman Talukder, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Md. Tariqul Islam, among others. In addition, officials of various departments and people from various political, social and cultural organizations were present.
Various decisions were taken in the meeting in light of the national program to celebrate the day. The decisions are: The great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day will be celebrated by placing wreaths at the Shaheed Minar at 12:01 am on February 20, flying the national flag at half-mast at all government and private buildings and institutions at sunrise, holding a morning ferry, drawing competition, and performing Milad-Dua in mosques after Zuhr, prayers and prayers in temples.
