Demanding that Sheikh Hasina be tried through a judicial process and the Awami League be banned, National Citizens Committee spokesperson Samantha Sharmin said that some evil forces want to make the election a trial and a reform for the genocide committed in the July coup.
She made these remarks while addressing a women's rally in Shahbagh on Sunday (February 16) demanding justice for Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League.
Expressing optimism about the new political party, Samantha Sharmin said, "We cannot forget the participation of women in the July Uprising and their special contribution. Hopefully, we will see the participation of women in the new political parties that will come forward."
Stating that women are not here just to whine, the spokesperson of the National Citizens' Committee said, "We urge women of all professions to occupy the field. If our men make any mistakes, it is also the responsibility of women to correct them."
