Like every year, lakhs of Hindu devotees from all over the country and abroad have arrived at the Atrashi Bishwa Zaker Manzil Darbar Sharif in Sadarpur Upazila of Faridpur. And there are huge arrangements for food and accommodation for all the Hindu devotees. A separate Hindu camp has been set up. There is a separate accommodation and different arrangements for Hindu female devotees.
Cooking is going on in rows of stoves across a huge area. Cooking is going on 24 hours a day in 1,000 stoves. About 20,000 Hindu volunteers are engaged in cooking for Hindus. Some are cooking rice, some are cooking lentils, some are cooking meat. Food for 2.3 lakh Hindu devotees is being cooked every hour. There is a huge food court where devotees are eating their food in rows in earthenware vessels. After eating, they wash the vessels themselves and keep them in a specific place. Despite the gathering of so many devotees, there is no chaos. Gaursen, who is in charge of the Hindu shala, said, "I have been at the feet of Baba for 30 years, I want to stay at the feet of Baba for the rest of my life." He also said that besides the followers of traditional religion, there are separate food and accommodation arrangements for people of different communities, including Muslims. There is no discrimination based on caste or religion. Here, rice, potato nabra with lentils, Khasi and chicken meat are cooked for devotees.
DSF Chief KM Maruf Hossain said that the Urs formalities began on Saturday (February 15) after the Fajr prayers with the recitation of Fateha Sharif and the observance of the Tariqat. Every day, along with the obligatory prayers, the Holy Quran recitation, Zikir Azgar, Moraqaba-Moshaheda, Waz Nasiht, Waz Mahfil and Sunnah worship are being done along with the Nafl worship. A large number of devotees and followers from home and abroad participated in the holy Urs with due religious solemnity.
Pirzada Mahfuzul Haque Mujaddidi, the successor of Khwaja Baba Faridpuri (Qu.Ch.A.) Keblajan Saheb, will meet the Ashkan Zakerans on all four days during the Urs. Shah Sufi Faridpuri (Qu.Ch.A.) Rawza Ziyarat will be performed after Fajr prayers on Tuesday. After that, the four-day Urs Sharif will end with the final prayer for world peace.
