Kamalganj (Moulvibazar) Representative:
A semi-detached house was gutted in a fire in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. The victim suffered losses worth over three lakh taka.
The incident took place at 7:30 pm on Friday (February 14) at the residence of Badshah Mia in Katalkandi village of Islampur union of the upazila. The fire service believes that the fire started from an electrical short circuit.
Locals said that a fire broke out at Badshah Mia's residence at approximately 7:30 pm. Later, local residents came and brought the fire under control. Later, members of the fire service arrived.
Before the fire was brought under control, the furniture, clothes, and rice in the house were burnt to ashes. The affected Badshah Mia said, "Everything is gone. The furniture, clothes, and everything in the house have been burnt."
Kamalganj Fire Service leader Farukul Islam confirmed the incident and said, "The locals controlled the fire before we reached the spot. Initially, we believe the fire started from an electrical short circuit."
