Sarail (Brahmanbaria) Representative:
A press conference by a daughter to get her ancestral property back against land robbers in Sarail, Brahmanbaria. Victim Amena Khatun (80) held a press conference at the Sarail Press Club on Saturday (February 15) afternoon. Amir Hamza read out a written statement on behalf of Amena Khatun, chaired by Sarail Press Club President Mohammad Ali, moderated by Editor Toufiq Ahmed Tafsir, and in the presence of other news workers.
In a written statement, he said that Amena Khatun, the youngest daughter of Md. Ismail Mia of Syedtula village, is trying to seize the ancestral house and land against her cousin Ali Hossain's sons Kamrul Islam and Najib Hossain Gang. In a written statement, he also said that they are trying to harass our heirs and weaken them economically. The chiefs of the area asked me to seek legal advice against the defendant gang. A case is pending in the Brahmanbaria court on this matter. On the other hand, while the case is ongoing, the defendants are trying to forcibly build a boundary wall in the place. I request the journalists to raise the issue and seek fair trial from the administration.
In this regard, the victim Amena Khatun said, there were 7 sisters in her father's house, 6 of them are dead now, she is the only one alive. Out of 45 percent of her ancestral property, 17th century land has been illegally acquired by my cousin's son Kamrul Islam and Najib Hossain Gangra. We are not able to go to the remaining 28 percent. The case is ongoing in the court, I want a fair trial from the administration through your journalists.
