Police are arresting former Ranapasha UP chairman and former general secretary of the Union Awami League, Masudur Rahman Salam, in a case related to the vandalism of the BNP office in Nalchit, Jhalakathi.
The Nalchit Police Station arrested him from his home area on Friday (February 14) night. The matter was confirmed by Nalchit Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Salam.
The arrested Masudur Rahman Salam was the former chairman of Ranapasha Union in Nalchiti Upazila of Jhalakathi and general secretary of the union Awami League. He also served as the youth and sports affairs secretary of Nalchiti Upazila Awami League.
Nalchiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Salam said that the local people caught him last Friday night and informed the police, after which the police went and arrested him and brought him to the police station. He will be arrested and sent to jail in the 2022 BNP office vandalism case in Siddhakathi Union of the upazila.
