Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui, the interim government's cultural affairs advisor, said that the problems of the film industry have been identified. He also expressed hope that work will begin to resolve the problems within the term of office.
He made this statement at the inauguration of the Dhaka Division's film workshop at the Shilpakala Academy on Saturday (February 15) afternoon.
Farooqui said, "People don't watch films made with donations in Bangladesh." The cultural affairs advisor believes that films should be made by creating funds through state planning.
He further said, "A new generation of culture has emerged in the country, who have not grown up with any support from the state." He also said that all the new ones have moved towards telling stories on their own initiative.
