A grand welcome ceremony was held at the Barisal campus of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) for the 2023-2024 academic year students from North Bengal (Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions).
The event began at 4:30 pm on Thursday (February 13) in the presence of North Bengal Association President Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman.
Vice President Azmain Iqtidar and General Secretary Muntasir Riyad delivered welcome speeches to the new students at the event.
Later, Professor Dr. Nani Gopal Saha, Professor Dr. Asit Kumar Pal, Dr. Md. Shah Alam and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sarkar gave orientation speeches and welcomed the freshmen with crests.
The next part of the program was the Pitha festival. Assistant Proctors Md. Ali Azgar and Anwar Zahid were present. Later, a photo session, girls' pillow game, and boys' football game were held.
North Bengal Association President Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman said in his speech, "Everyone in this association is like a family. Even though we are far from home, the company of some people from our own area is undoubtedly a joy. He called for everyone to come together and organize such events on a larger scale from time to time."
