Nobipravi Representative
Tansur Sifat, a student of the 2018-19 academic year of the Noakhali Science and Technology University (NoBUP), has threatened a journalist for preventing him from consuming drugs at the university. It is learned that Tansur Sifat was also an activist of the University Chhatra League.
On Friday (February 14) at 7:00 PM, journalists and students of the university saw them smoking marijuana with outsiders in the university's Mainadwip area. When they reached the scene, they behaved arrogantly when asked about smoking marijuana. At one point, they raised their hands and tried to stop the video while recording it. When asked to see the hand of Tansur Sifat, a student of Nobi Prabi, among those smoking marijuana, he refused and asked to show a search warrant. At one point, he threatened to gather people in the area.
An eyewitness student said, "A few of us went out for a walk. When we went there, we saw some people smoking marijuana. Then we went and asked what you were doing? They said you have to give an apology." Later, Tansur Sifat, a 14th batch student of the university, said, "The government has fallen, so you can do whatever you want?" Then we called the proctor and they left shouting and threatening us. Later, when the proctor came, we told him the details of the incident.
Although the accused student Tansur Sifat tried to contact him on his mobile phone several times, his phone was found to be switched off.
In this regard, Nobi Proctor AFM Arifur Rahman said that if the allegations against him are proven, disciplinary action will be taken at a later date.
