The meeting titled "Principal Advisor's Exchange of Views with Expatriates in Dubai" discussed the problems and expectations of expatriates. Principal Advisor Muhammad Yunus assured expatriates about voting rights, visa transfers, and other important issues.
Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, exchanged views with Bangladeshi expatriates while attending the World Government Summit held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The meeting, held at the Dukes of the Palm Hotel in Dubai on Thursday (February 13), discussed various problems and expectations of the expatriates.
In the meeting, the chief advisor assured of taking measures to improve the voting rights of expatriates, identify syndicates to reduce air fares, resolve various complications including visa transfers, support the student movement in the country, rehabilitate expatriates, arrange for the repatriation of expatriates' bodies at full government expense, reform the service quality of Janata Bank located in the Emirates, and prevent the spread of rumors on social media.
He also announced initiatives to launch a one-stop service to make it easier for expatriates to invest and to simplify the services of the Wage Earners Board.
Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain and Bangladesh Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Tarek Ahmed were present at the meeting.
