Police have recovered the hanging body of a police constable from his house in Mirpur, Kushtia. On Wednesday (February 26) at 10:30 am, the Mirpur Police recovered the body of police constable Rakibul Islam (26) from Katlamari village of Sadarpur Union in Mirpur Upazila of the district. The deceased police constable is the son of Samu Ali of the same area. The deceased police constable was working at Jhenaidah District Police Line.
According to the family sources of the deceased, he came home on leave on January 21 and while staying at home, it is known that he committed suicide by hanging himself with a bamboo pole in his bedroom without the knowledge of anyone in the house between 9 and 10 am. At that time, his wife was staying at her mother's house. However, locals say that the deceased policeman had been suffering from family unrest for a long time due to financial debts. Confirming the truth of the incident, Mirpur Police Station OC Mominul Islam said that Police Constable Rakibul Islam, working at Jhenaidah Police Line, came home on leave and even after the leave ended, he did not return to his workplace.
It is known that he was suffering from mental unrest in his family. We recovered his body hanging from the bus bar in his own house. Since the door was blocked from inside the house, we are initially considering it as suicide. The body is being sent to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy. The cause of death will be known only after the autopsy report.
