The headmaster of Patuakhali's Bauphal has beaten up the assistant headmaster in protest against the incident of creating a class routine. The incident took place on Monday afternoon at Bilbilas Abdur Rashid Sardar Secondary School in the upazila. On Tuesday (February 11), the Upazila Executive Officer and the president of the school's managing committee, Aminul Islam, summoned both parties to his office.
According to eyewitnesses, on Sunday, the school's headmaster Khairul Alam prepared a class routine with a few teachers of his choice. According to the rules, the assistant headmaster Selim Reza was supposed to prepare this routine. When the assistant teacher objected to the matter of making the class routine, the headmaster ignored him and started scolding assistant teacher Selim Reza. On Monday, around 12 noon, Selim Reza was sitting in his room talking to other teachers. At that time, headmaster Khairul Alam entered assistant headmaster Selim Reza's room and misbehaved with him. When he protested, headmaster Khairul Alam punched assistant headmaster Selim Reza and threatened to see him. Later, other teachers came and calmed the situation.
It is reported that there has been a long-standing dispute between Headmaster Khairul Alam and Assistant Headmaster Selim Reza over the appointment of Headmaster Khairul Alam. A case is pending in the High Court regarding the appointment of the Headmaster in violation of the rules. In this regard, Headmaster Khairul Alam said, I did not raise my hand against the Assistant Headmaster. He is spreading misinformation against me because of the dispute. Upazila Executive Officer and President of the Managing Committee of the school, Aminul Islam, said, After learning about this incident, I called the Headmaster and Assistant Headmaster. Action will be taken after listening to the talks of both parties.
